Register the MapBuilder template to an organizational ArcGIS Online account

If you have access to an organizational ArcGIS Online account, you may register the MapBuilder template and use it as a configurable mapping application. The steps below explain how to register the latest version of the MapBuilder template with your organizational account and add it to a group.

The steps below must be performed by an admin on your organizational account. Once the MapBuilder template is registered, it will be available to all your organization’s members.

  1. First create a group to house your configurable applications in your organizational ArcGIS Online account. To do this, click “Groups” then click “+ Create group” on the top left.
Click “+ Create group” to create a group in your organizational ArcGIS Online account.
  1. Name the group, add any applicable tags and modify group settings based on your organization’s needs. Group membership should be limited to your organization and group members should only be able to edit their own items. Once the information is filled out, save the group by clicking “Create group.”
Enter a name for the group and fill out any additional group details.
Click “Create Group” to save the group to your organizational ArcGIS Online account.
  1. Add the MapBuilder template to your group by first searching for the MapBuilder template. Click on the search icon on the top right, type “GFW MapBuilder” and press enter.
Click the search icon to search for “GFW MapBuilder.”
  1. On the search webpage, turn off the filter to only search within your organization. You will see a list of several templates created by “GlobalForestWatch.” For the latest version, select “GFW MapBuilder template (v1.latest)” from the list.
Turn off the filter to only search in your organization on the top left.
Select “GFW MapBuilder template (v1.latest)” then click “Share.”
  1. Share the MapBuilder template with your group by clicking “Share” then clicking “Edit group sharing.” Select your group then click “Save.”
Click “Edit group sharing” and select the group you created, then click “Save.”
  1. Designate the default group for configurable applications by clicking “Organization” on the top menu then clicking “Settings.” Select the “Map” section of settings.
Click “Organization” then click “Settings” and select the “Map” section of settings.
  1. Scroll down to the “Configurable Apps” section and select the group you created from the drop-down menu. After selecting your group, click “Share the Esri default configurable apps with group.” The MapBuilder template is now successfully registered to your organization ArcGIS Online account.
Select the group you created and share Esri default configurable apps with it.
A green pop-up window will appear on the top right once shared successfully.
